The Charter of Journalistic Ethics Hosted the Contestants

TV Pirveli Hosted The Contestants of MCERC

Twelve (12) contestants of MCERC’s project: ‘’young journalists for media empowering” visited “TV Pirveli” on the 3rd of June. The media tour was organized by Nino Zhizhilashvili, one of the mentors of the project who carried out a masterclass how to shoot TV stories and reports. იხილე სრულად


Training for entry-level journalists on media beat reporting

The training regarding media beat reporting and facts checking journalism was held on 31th of May in the frames of “Media criticism: young journalists for media empowering” project implementing by MCERC.

2The special jury will detect three of the best projects in October, 2016. Authors will be awarded by the special prizes of MCERC and Deutsche Welle Akademie and all of the participants will be given the certificates.

MCERC was found in 2015. The aim of the center is to promote media development and mass communication sphere in the way of educational and research activities.

Professional mentors will supervise the entry-level journalists in media beat reporting

The first phase (choosing of the contestants) of the project ‘’Media criticism: young journalists for media empowering’’ completed on 27th of May. 6Four professional mentors: Nino Zhizhilashvili, George Isakadze, David Paitchadze and Nodar Meladze selected 12 Entry-level journalists, who will cover the beats about media in an understandable way for a wide audience during the next 3 months.

12 selected Students will create experimental TV or online products (stories, or digests, or reviews, different kind audio/visual products) about media.

25 students in total from 9 universities participated in the selection process. Interviews with mentors were held in the Caucasus Media School.

5The goal of the project – “Media criticism: Young Journalists for Media Empowering’’ is promoting the development of media critics. Project is being implemented by Media and Communication Educational and Research Center by supporting Deutsche Welle Akiademie.

The special jury will detect three of the best projects in October, 2016. Authors will be awarded by the special prizes of MCERC and Deutsche Welle Akademie and all of the participants will be given certificates.

MCERC was found in 2015. Center aims to support the enhancement of a media and mass-communication field in the manner of creation of the new knowledge and through educational-research activities.

The mission of the center is: To educate and support journalists for empowering and strengthening journalism skills.3
